BAY HARBOR — Join the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO) on Thursday, Dec. 7 and Friday, Dec. 8 for a performance of Handel's timeless masterpiece, "Messiah."

This celebrated annual community tradition, now in its third decade, promises two evenings of classical music at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts, located at 800 Bay Harbor Dr. Both performances begin at 7 p.m.

Led by Maestro Libor Ondras, the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra will be accompanied by the GLCO Chorus, directed by André Strydom. The ensemble will be joined by guest soloists Christine Amon (Mezzo-Soprano), Karen Hughes Beacom (Soprano), Brysien Beer (Tenor) and Rick Ziebarth (Bass Baritone).

The main event, Handel's "Messiah" oratorio, will conclude the evening, culminating in the iconic Hallelujah Chorus. This enduring masterpiece, created by the German-born English composer in just 24 days, is believed to have been performed annually since its inception in 1741.

Tickets are available at glcorchestra.org, with prices ranging from $35 to $65. The concert is free for veterans, active service members and for students aged 18 and under. For complimentary tickets, call (231) 487-0010.
