The Great Indian Family, starring Vicky Kaushal, has made a blockbuster OTT release on November 17, 2023. Following its theatrical debut on September 23, 2023, the film’s unique tale of family bonds and unexpected twists is set to unfold once again, this time on Amazon Prime Video.

The Great Indian Family starring Vicky Kaushal releases on Amazon Prime Video

After its successful theatrical run, The Great Indian Family has found a new home on the popular OTT streaming platform Amazon Prime Video. The announcement was made in a style as vibrant as the film itself.

The streaming giant’s Instagram page revealed the news alongside the film’s poster. In their post, Amazon Prime Video teased the audience with the promise of “an unfiltered dose of laughter, love, and heartwarming chaos! TheGreatIndianFamilyOnPrime, watch now.”

At the heart of The Great Indian Family is the Tripathi family. The family is known for its important role in the priestly lineage of the town. Ved Vyas Tripathi, affectionately known as Bhajan Kumar, is the only son of the family. He gained popularity for singing soulful bhajans as well as for contributing to the family’s pandit lineage.

However, unexpected revelations about Ved’s birth and lineage turn the peace of their lives. He turns out to be not a pandit but a Muslim. As a result, facing an identity crisis and personal uncertainty, Ved embarks on a journey to uncover the truths of his roots and origin.

Yash Raj Films produces The Great Indian Family, which is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. The film also boasts a stellar cast, featuring the first-time pairing of Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chillar in lead roles. The ensemble also includes Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, and Sadiya Siddiqui.
