Bringing four new entries, the fresh Grateful Dead x Sanuk Collection includes sandals and sneakers for both men and women — all great for a summertime footwear refresh. The pieces feature psychedelic patterns and signature Dead details, such as band logos and hippie hues, making the officially-licensed collection a great way subtly rep the legendary band.
The men’s and women’s sneakers (called the Tideline and the Avery, respectively) are fairly similar with a classic silhouette, muted beige palettes, and subtle Deadhead artwork throughout. They also feature high rebound Soft Top midsoles that can handle long days of standing or even a hike.
The sandals, meantime, are the first slide-style footwear to enter the ongoing Grateful Dead x Sanuk collaboration. The men’s Bixby slide boasts an adjustable closure with “Grateful Dead” printed on the side, while the women’s Lola slide features a single soft strap and a Dead logo in floral print.
Priced between $50 and $70, the new Grateful Dead x Sanuk capsule can be shopped now at Sanuk.com.
Because they’re built on Sanuk best-sellers, the new Grateful Deal x Sanuk sandals and sneakers are ideal for laid-back weekends, casual hikes, or beach days. As expected from the California brand, the pieces’ build quality is top-notch, and they’ll likely become even more comfortable with wear.
“This expansion of our partnership with the band embodies a trendy, retro look and an especially comfy feel,” says Sanuk Director of Marketing Seth Pulford, in a press release. “In classic Grateful Dead fashion, this collection is timeless. Dead Heads of all ages can rock these comfy new styles in celebration of the band’s transcendent legacy.”
As the sixth release from Sanuk and the Grateful Dead, the new capsule retains the collaboration’s focus on sustainability. Materials include hemp, recycled polyester, and even repurposed algae in the footbed.
Previous Sanuk x Grateful Dead launches have included similar Dead-inspired sandals, slippers, and sneakers — some of which have sold out within days of their release. But most pieces have been continuously restocked, and can still be shopped at Sanuk.com (their flip flops are another great summertime option).
