A new graphic novel chronicling the life and times of Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead is set to arrive this summer via Z2 Comics. A first look at the cover art can be seen below.

Presented in an oral history format, No Remorse: The Illustrated True Stories of Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead features contributions from rock icons such as Dave Grohl (who wrote the foreword), Ozzy Osbourne (who penned the afterword), Slash, Lars Ulrich, Lita Ford, Chrissie Hynde, Dee Snider, and Dave Navarro, among others. Plus, Lemmy’s bandmates Phil Campbell, Mickey Dee, and Slim Jim Phantom are also included.

Other notable contributors include Neil Gaiman, Michael Moorcock, pro-wrestlers Triple H and Corey Graves, Matt Pinfield, Penelope Spheeris, and Riki Rachtman.

In all, 25 individuals were paired with 25 artists, recounting stories about their personal encounters with the late Motörhead legend. Illustrators include Dave Chisholm, Bob Fingerman, Jay Jay Jackson, and Jim Mahfood. The aforementioned cover art was illustrated and designed Tim Bradstreet (Punisher, Hellblazer) and features holographic spot coating on Lemmy’s aviator specs.

“Until then I’d never met what I’d call a real rock ‘n’ roll hero before,” recounts Dave Grohl in his foreword for the graphic novel. “Fuck Elvis and Keith Richards, Lemmy’s the king of rock ‘n’ roll. A living, breathing, drinking, snorting, fucking legend. No one else comes close.”

Like all Z2 books, No Remorse comes in a plethora of collectible editions, including one that comes with a white vinyl variant of the legendary Motörhead double LP compilation, No Remorse, as well as a poster triptych set by designer Hydro74 (which can be seen below) and a three-card collectors set presented in a custom frame featuring the art of thrash-metal painter Ed Repka (Megadeth, Super7).

All collector editions will include the oversized deluxe volume of the graphic novel housed in a metallic foil embossed slipcase, with die cuts that reveal the holographic coating on Lemmy’s aviators.

The standard hardcover edition of No Remorse: The Illustrated True Stories of Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead retails for a list price of $35, and you can pre-order it and the various collector’s editions via Z2 Comics.
