You may be surprised which artist has won the most Grammys in history.

No, it's not Beyoncé or Adele or U2 or Stevie Wonder -- it actually may be someone whose name you've never heard of. After all, there are tons of categories with winners that get revealed ahead of the annual primetime telecast that millions of people watch, so it does make sense that someone is cleaning up in relatively unknown categories.

And that man is Georg Solti. The Hungarian-born orchestral director holds the record for the most Grammys won with 31 awards garnered throughout his illustrious career, during which he served as the musical director for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for over 20 years.

Solti passed away at the age of 84 back in 1997, one year after earning a lifetime achievement Grammy.

Tied for second on the all-time list are legendary producer Quincy Jones and singer Alison Krauss, who have both won 27 Grammy Awards. Krauss is the most-honored female artist in Grammys history.

Beyoncé is tied for eighth on the all-time list with 22 Grammys (she's been nominated a whopping 62 times!), while her husband, Jay-Z, lags just behind her with 21 awards. That's a lot of Grammys for one household!
