Grammys 2020: Tanya Tucker Wins First Grammys at 61

Tonight, at the 2020 Grammys, Tanya Tucker has won the first Grammy Awards of her career, netting the trophies for Best Country song for “Bring My Flowers Now” and Best Country Album for While I’m Living.

At tonight’s ceremony, she is also nominated for Song of the Year (“Bring My Flowers Now”). Earlier in the night, she lost Best Country Solo Performance (“Bring My Flowers Now”) to Willie Nelson’s “Ride Me Back Home.”

Tucker was first nominated for a Grammy 40 years ago, in 1980, when her album TNT was nominated in the (now-defunct) Best Female Rock Vocal Performance category. More nominations would follow in the years to come, but Tucker never won a trophy until today.
