Grammy-winning bluegrass trio Nickel Creek will perform in Peoria

The Grammy Award-winning bluegrass trio Nickel Creek will perform at the Peoria Civic Center Theater on Feb. 12. Tickets go on sale Friday.

The group — mandolinist Chris Thile, violinist Sara Watkins and guitarist Sean Watkins — won a 2003 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album for “This Side."

Since 1993, the band has released seven studio albums, a compilation and a live recording. Their latest release is 2023's "Celebrants."

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and will be available at Ticketmaster.com or in person at the Toyota Box Office, open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
