It’s been almost 10 years since Grammy-nominated Christian pop/rock artist Andrew Ripp headlined a tour.

On Sept. 14, Ripp began the national Big Feelings tour. Monroe is one of the 18 stops.

Ripp and singers Blessing Offor and Rachael Lampa will perform at 7 p.m. Monday at Monroe County Community College. Tickets are $35-124 and can be bought online at monroeccc.edu/events. It’s the first offering in MCCC’s 2023-24 entertainment season.

“I cannot wait to get back on the road. It’s going to be a fun tour,” Ripp said.

The concert will feature new selections from Ripp, including "Big Feelings," a song he wrote for his young daughter.

"It's a song of things I felt I wanted to leave her with, truths," Ripp said during a recent performance.

Ripp began his music career in 2005 and has released three albums. His songs blend pop and soul genres and include "Fill My Cup," "Rejoice," "God Knows," "For the Love of God" and "Roses."

His performances are energetic.

"As a kid, I was feeling a little bit of almost shame, as if I wasn’t supposed to have that amount of energy. Like I was supposed to be like all the other kids. That wasn’t me. My energy is a gift from God, it's a part of who I am," Ripp said.

He said the Big Feelings tour is about freedom, feelings and joy.

"There's something so freeing about hearing the words 'big feelings' together. It's freedom to be your yourself. Your feelings are beautiful, even when you're sad," Ripp said. "Blessing Offor and Rachael Lampa, they are full of joy. We plan on spreading that joy."
