Grambling State Women’s Basketball Defeats College Of Biblical Studies With 141-Point Victory

The College of Biblical Studies suffered a tough defeat this week. The Ambassadors were not-so-blessed with a 141-point loss to the Grambling State women’s basketball team on Tuesday (Jan. 2).

The game marked the biggest margin of victory in the history of Division 1 women’s basketball, which was previously held by Savannah State after defeating Wesleyan (Georgia) by 129 points in 2018. The Tigers began the game with a 34-0 lead, holding the Ambassadors scoreless until there were two minutes left in the first quarter. At halftime, Grambling State was in the lead by 72 points.

The second half was even worse, as the Ambassadors scored three points in the third quarter and five in the fourth while the Tigers put up 77 total. It’s difficult to determine which aspect of the game was worse: the final score being 159-18 or the Ambassadors’ having 57 turnovers and a 19 percent FGP. Check out some highlights, and lowlights, of the game below.

The Grambling State Tigers got impressive output from several of their players. Arianna Mosley led the team with 27 points, followed by Kahia Warmsley with 20, and Amanda Blake and DeMya Young both putting up 15. The Tigers are currently second in the Southwestern Atlantic Conference with a 6-5 record.

As usual with social media, the jokes were rolling in after this monumental defeat. “I know they had a prayer meeting immediately after the game…,” one user wrote via X, formerly known as Twitter. “A beating of biblical proportions,” another user wrote.

One hilarious user referenced the story of Job from the Bible, who lost his possessions, children, and quality of life but remained faithful to God. “Even Job would think this is a teensy bit excessive,” they wrote. Check out the tweets below.
