Graham Moore-Marc Forster Outbreak Drama Series Not Going Forward At NBC
NBC is no longer proceeding with outbreak drama, aka Patient Zero, from The Imitation Game writer Graham Moore and World War Z director Marc Forster. The Endemol Shine Studio project, which received a 10-episode, straight-to-series order in May 2015, was co-developed by Sky, which was to serve as the series’ UK network. Word came out of the UK this week that Patient Zero also had been dropped by Sky.
Created and written by Moore and to be directed by Forster, Patient Zero was described as a candid look at an outbreak that pushes its characters to extremes, revealing the best – and very worst – humanity has to offer. When a woman exhibits mysterious symptoms, she and her loved ones find themselves in the center of an epidemic with global consequences. Meanwhile, across the world, an FBI agent investigates a seemingly unrelated terrorist attack that leads him to the brink of madness.
Moore and Forster executive produced alongside Patrick Spence, Katie Swinden, Frith Tiplady, Nora Grossman & Ido Ostrowsky, with Jillian Kugler co-executive producing.
NBC has another straight-to-series drama that is on track to launch later this season, the Wizard Of Oz-themed Emerald City.
