'Gotham' Season 3 DVD exclusive: The Riddler has a question for you
Gotham‘s arc last season may have been called “Heroes Rise,” but that certainly didn’t stop the Riddler — played with delightfully unhinged charm by Cory Michael Smith — from continuing to be one of the show’s highlights. In anticipation of Season 3’s release on DVD and Blu-ray, Warner Bros. put together a supercut of some of Ed Nygma’s best moments.
The strange and intimate relationship of the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and the Riddler has long been a part of comic-book history, but it’s never been more lurid and intense than on Gotham. And like all good villains, they would never let a little thing like attempted murder get in the way of a good frenemy relationship.
We also get some of Nygma matching wits with his GCPD intellectual equal, Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk). But really, the best part is seeing him finally embrace his dark side after two years of fighting it. Batman’s nothing without his villains, and the Riddler is one of the best.
Gotham: The Complete Third Season will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on Aug. 29.
