The Gotham Group Launches New International Division Headed By Producer & Manager Justin Littman

EXCLUSIVE: Hollywood management and production company The Gotham Group has launched a new international division and appointed long-time manager and producer Justin Littman as its head.

The appointment see Littman join The Gotham Group partners roster alongside Peter McHugh, Julie Kane-Ritsch, Lindsay Williams, Jeremy Bell, Eric Robinson, Lee Stollman, Rich Green, and Matt Shichtman.

“We’re thrilled to have Justin leading The Gotham’s Group’s surging international client roster,” said The Gotham Group Founder and CEO Ellen Goldsmith-Vein.

“This initiative underscores our ability and intention to expand the boundaries of our business, to tap into the creative minds of artists around the globe to create entertainment for audiences everywhere,” said Goldsmith-Vein.

Littman said the time was ripe for such a move.

“International voices are driving a huge part of the conversation in film and TV,” he said.  “The Gotham Group is excited to launch a dedicated department to focus on these artists, their exciting work, and their diverse perspectives.”

Littman has focused on the international landscape for several years as a manager and producer at the company.

His clients include Kenyan filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu, whose film Rafiki made waves in Cannes Un Certain Regard in 2018, and Israeli director Navot Papushado, whose credits include hit Netflix Original Gunpowder Milkshake.

Other talents handled by Littman include showrunners Steve Lemme (Tacoma FD) and Selwyn Hinds (Washington Black).

Littman joined The Gotham Group in 2012, working for the head of its feature literary department Lindsay Williams.

He is also a  producer on the re-make of the hit Spanish film, Shrew’s Nest, that Gotham is producing with Weed Road.

Littman began his career at Gail Katz Productions, where he worked on projects such as Pawn Sacrifice, directed by Ed Zwick, and the ABC television series Cashmere Mafia.

The new International Department’s inaugural client list features:

Patrick Vollrath: The Austrian writer and director was Oscar nominated for short film Everything will be Okay. He made his feature debut with hijack thriller 7500 starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, which premiered at Locarno in 2019 and was acquired by Amazon.

C.J. Obasi: The Nigerian writer and director’s award-winning black and white fantasy feature Mami Wata premiered at Sundance this year and is Nigeria’s Oscar entry for the 96th Oscars.

Pan Nailin: The Indian director’s most recent feature, Last Film Show, premiered at Tribeca in 2021 and made history there when it became the first foreign language film to win its audience award.

Wanuri Kahiu: The writer-director’s feature breakthrough work Rafiki was the first Kenyan film to premiere at Cannes, playing in Un Certain Regard in 2019. She has since directed Netflix Original film Look Both Ways as well as the pilot and half the episodes of Hulu limited series Washington Black, which she also EPed.  She is attached to direct Once on the Island for Marc Platt.

Navot Papushado: Israeli writer and director directed action Netflix action thriller hit Gunpowder Milkshake, which he co-wrote with Ehud Lavski. It became a top ten Netflix original live action film of 2021 with nearly 11 million hours viewed in its first week.

Moriarti: The Basque writing-directing team made up of Aitor Arregi, Jon Garano and Jose Mari Goenaga boasts 12 Goya Awards and 31 nominations as well as two Spanish Oscar entries. Their last feature The Endless Trench won Best Director and the Jury Prize for Best Screenplay at San Sebastian in 2019. The trio also recently wrote and directed the limited series Cristóbal Balenciaga, based on the life of the famed Spanish fashion designer, which premieres on Disney+ in January.

Celso Garcia: The Mexican writer and director’s debut feature The Thin Yellow Line was produced by Guillermo Del Toro and nominated for 14 of Mexico’s prestigious Ariel Awards. He followed this with Spanish Language remake of My Best Friend’s Wedding for Sony and is currently writing a film based on the life of famed Mexican chef Eduardo “Lalo” Garcia.

Klaudia Reynicke: The Swiss-Peruvian writer and director’s first feature Il Nido world premiered in Competition at Locarno while her second film Love Me Tender played at Toronto. Her third film Reinas will be ready for a festival premiere in 2024. She was recently co-showrunner and director on Swiss comedy series, La Vie Devant and is currently adapting Mrs. Hemingway, written by Naomi Wood, as a limited series.

Aritz Moreno: The Spanish director’s feature debut Advantages Of Travelling By Train received multiple Goya Award nominations, including Best New Director. He recently premiered his second feature film, Moscas at Sitges and directed multiple episodes of Disney+/Hulu limited series The Invisible Girl.

Santiago and Ariana Arriaga: Sibling Mexican directors recently premiered their first feature Upon Open Sky at Venice Film Festival and then travelled to Toronto for its international premiere there.

Maysaloun Hamoud – The Hungarian born, Palestinian writer and director broke through with first feature In Between, which premiered in 2016 at Toronto to critical acclaim and winning the NETPAC award for World Cinema. Maysaloun most recently wrote and directed The Dreamers, a critically acclaimed series that sold to Sundance Now.
