As the seasonal population of the island grows, the demand for coverage grows with it.

Decisions regarding coverage are made by the newspaper and are subject to space limitations.

We welcome story ideas, news about Palm Beach social events and requests for coverage.

Here are some tips to help get your information into print.

THE SOCIAL CALENDAR

Society Editor Shannon Donnelly
Society Editor Shannon Donnelly

In keeping with our 126-year tradition as the newspaper of record for Palm Beach, the Social Calendar lists only events that occur on the island.

"Grandfathered" are events at the Kravis Center that benefit the Kravis, events at the Norton Museum of Art that benefit the Norton, and events for which the Palm Beach Daily News is a major sponsor.

Event information should be emailed to society editor Shannon Donnelly at sdonnelly@pbdailynews.com. Please do not send attachments.

We cannot accept mailed listings at this time.

Please note that we cannot accept Social Calendar items, corrections or changes by telephone.

The deadline is noon Tuesday for publication in Sunday’s Social Calendar.

Please include the name and phone number (not for publication) of a person we can call for more information if needed.

Listings should include the name of the event, time, date and place as well as the names of up to four chairpersons. Give a phone number to call for reservations.

If the event is by invitation, please include that. Information such as dress code, the names of honorees or well-known guest speakers is also welcome.

PHOTO COVERAGE

Meghan McCarthy
Meghan McCarthy

We assign our staff photographers, Damon Higgins and Meghan McCarthy, to cover social events on the island for publication in the Palm Beach Daily News. Please submit requests for coverage by email.

Please include the name and cellphone number (not for publication) of the on-site contact person for the photographer.

Give us as much advance notice as possible when requesting a photographer to cover your social event.

Decisions about who should be photographed rest with the newspaper. You may, however, inform the photographer if someone particularly newsworthy is in attendance.

We publish the first and last names of men and women in our photographs. The publicity chairman or chairwoman should have a prepared information sheet to give our photographer when he or she arrives at your event, or to be emailed directly to sdonnelly@pbdailynews.com within 48 hours after the event.

The information sheet should include the basics: who, what, when, where and why, as well as a telephone number to call for more information.
