Gorillaz Share New Song “Momentary Bliss” With slowthai and Slaves: Listen

After sharing a clip with new music called “Song Machine Theme Tune” earlier this week, Gorillaz are back today (January 30) with a proper full song called “Momentary Bliss.” The track features slowthai and Slaves. Have a listen below.

The track is accompanied by the announcement of Song Machine, the cartoon band’s new series where they’ll release new songs one at a time. The videos will feature studio footage, interviews with the band’s collaborators, and chats with the cartoon members.

Song Machine is a whole new way of doing what we do,” said Gorillaz drummer Russel in a statement. “Gorillaz breaking the mould ’cos the mould got old. World is moving faster than a supercharged particle, so we’ve gotta stay ready to drop. We don’t even know who’s stepping through the studio next. Song Machine feeds on the unknown, runs on pure chaos. So whatever the hell’s coming, we’re primed and ready to produce like there’s no tomorrow. Y’know, just in case....”

Gorillaz released new albums in 2017 (Humanz) and 2018 (The Now Now). The band’s documentary about the making of those projects, Gorillaz: Reject False Icons, premiered in theaters in December 2019.
