Gordon, Gino and Fred: Viva España! sees chefs Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo plus restaurateur Fred Sirieix getting back on the road again for another of their much-loved road trips for ITV1 and ITVX.

This time the trio of pals will be heading to Spain, taking in the sights, sounds and flavours of Andalucia and Galicia and, as always, you can expect bromances and bickering in equal measure. In what promises to be their most outrageous trip yet, the boys will take on some incredible adventures, sample plenty of local delights and try out some of the scariest adrenaline-fuelled challenges ever. 

“Here. We. Go. Again!!!! VAMOS,” says Gordon Ramsay. “Really happy that me and my amigos will once again be on the road together driving across Spain. Amazing food, great wine, culture, history and traditions and of course the usual ridiculous annoyances of working with Gino and Fred! Ay dios mío!”

Gordon, Gino and Fred: Viva España! is a two-part series for Autumn 2023 that starts on ITV1 on Sunday September 3 at 8pm and concludes on Monday September 4 at the same time. Episodes will become available on ITVX.

Destinations and what happens in Gordon, Gino and Fred: Viva España

Fasten your seatbelts because ‘taste buddies’ Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix are back behind the wheel of their beloved RV, and this time they’re heading to Spain! Over two-episodes the food-loving trio head to Andalusia in southern Spain, and Galicia in the north-west, to sample the fantastic foods and delicious drinks that Spain has to offer — assuming Gordon’s driving can get them there in one piece!

Gordon, Gino and Fred begin their journey in Malaga, where they pay a visit to the coastal resort’s busiest restaurant and attempt to get to grips with its unconventional way of serving customers. After that, they head to the ancient town of Ronda, where it’s Gino’s turn to prepare the evening meal. The second episode sees the boys foraging for shellfish in the Galician coastal village of Cambados - and offer to cook dinner for the 200 women who work there harvesting clams…

As always, they will compete over driving, cooking, jamón tasting and flamenco dancing, as well as some of their most extreme high adrenaline activities yet.

Interviews: Gordon Ramsey, Gino D’Acampo an Fred Sirieix give the lowdown on their Spanish adventure

Here Gordon Ramsey, 56, GinoGino D’Acampo, 47, and Fred Sirieix, 51, serve up the delicious details of their two-part Spanish sojourn…

What appealed to you all about going to Spain for this series?
Gino says: "I hadn’t been to Spain for over 20 years, so I was really keen and excited to re-discover some of the amazing places and food it has to offer.
Gordon says: "I love everything about Spain - the food, history and culture. You can go all out in the big cities, or take yourself off the beaten track and discover the rural, unspoiled delights of the country. There’s amazing regional delicacies and local ingredients. It’s a chef’s paradise, for sure."
Fred says: "We were going to some regions I had never been to. Spain is an amazing country, and everything is unique to the destination that you go to, whether you are in the north, south or centre, in the mountains or near the sea."

How would you summarise the food of Spain?
Gordon says: "It’s super-diverse! The variety across the country is exceptional. Also, I’ve got to mention the tapas! Although tapas originated down in the south, they are now a global institution. All those great plates of tasty bites and the patatas bravas - the delicious fried golden potatoes kissed with paprika along with Padron peppers - are a tapas classic in any bar."
Gino says: "Spanish cuisine is very good - but nowhere near as good as Italian!"

Did you cook any particularly different or unusual dishes this time around?Gordon says: "Criadillas, also known as bull’s testicles, is something I’ve cooked and eaten. I’ve got to be honest, it’s not something I’m in a hurry to repeat - however, I do like the ‘no waste’ ethos of a specialty like this!"

Tell us about a favourite Spanish dish that you might make at home for the family?
Gino says: "I cooked a fantastic paella for the boys in the camper van, and it was delicious. It was definitely my favourite dish we had on the series, and it’s one we have at home regularly. My daughter Mia loves it!"
Gordon says: "There are a whole host of Spanish dishes that regularly make it onto the Ramsay family dinner table. Tilly [Gordon’s daughter, who hosted CBBC cooking show Matilda And The Ramsay Bunch] makes brilliant tortillas which go down well with all her friends and siblings, and The Gordon Ramsay Academy recently posted a ‘cook with the kids’ churros recipe which we know everyone will love! Across Catalonia, you will find the most delicious octopus stews, thick and rich with tomatoes, garlic, onion and smoky paprika - they’re simple, but oh so good!"
Fred says: "I really, really love tapas! In fact, I go to tapas restaurants all the time. But I don’t really cook them at home because I think that the Spanish chefs that I go to will cook the dishes better than me, so I go and enjoy their cuisine rather than cook it myself!"

As well as food, you’re also sampling some fabulous drinks on your travels — what would you say is your favourite Spanish tipple?
Fred says: "Well, that’s got to be a beautiful bottle of rioja. I love this wine, I love how smooth and beautiful, fruity and oaky it is. This is delicious, delicious wine. Or Ribera del Duero, which is next door to it, is another of my favourites."
Gordon says: "Obviously there are some amazing beers and wines to come out of Spain, but for me, I remember coming across a street vendor in a small local town, selling the most refreshing granizado - it was basically a cup of shaved ice with fresh melon juice, it was amazing!"

What was your favourite moment from all of your experiences on this trip?
Fred says: "The beautiful landscape, especially the north, where we were [in Galicia]. There was incredible gastronomy, and the fresh produce that was coming out of there was amazing."
Gino says: "One of my highlights was in the north too: Gordon, Fred and I collected clams with over 200 women. That’s what they do in the area, and it was great to see how everyone came together."
Gordon says: " I say this every time, but being on the road with Gino and Fred is the best bit. The people we meet and the places we go are great, but just hanging out with my friends every day for a week or so, that’s the ultimate joy in making this programme."

Sadly, Gordon, Gino & Fred is going on a break for the time being after this series. What have been your overall highlights from making the show?
Gino says: "That’s a hard one, as going on any trip with your friends is a highlight! However, I would say the time we spent in San Francisco was one of the most memorable and funniest moments. The food and culture was great, and it was a trip I will never forget!"
Fred says: "It was incredible to travel and see all of these beautiful places - the fun and the madness! It was great to discover all the different countries and locations, and all the people that we met, especially when we went to America. Travelling through America was beautiful!"
Gordon says: "Just hitting the open road with the guys has been a highlight. We’ve had so much fun, been to some incredible places, and taken part in some brilliant adventures. Memories made forever!"

Fred shot to fame as the host of First Dates and First Dates Hotel. He’s also presented Remarkable Places to Eat, Fred’s Last Resort, Step Up to the Plate and The World Cook. He took part in a Christmas special of Strictly Come Dancing and now appears on Celebrity Gogglebox.
