After eight years, Sia is back, and her fans are thrilled. "Reasonable Woman" is the name of the solo album of the musician who has penned songs for superstars such as Rihanna ("Diamonds") and has also made a name for herself with her own songs such as "Chandelier" and "Cheap Thrills."

The new album has hit potential, and features superstars such as Kylie Minogue, Paris Hilton and British rapper Labrinth.

In 2021, the 48-year-old faced strong pushback for her debut film, the musical drama "Music," a treatment of autism - a central theme in the film. It didn't go over well with the critics, with the film receiving three "Razzie" awards. Afterwards, Sia suffered suicidal thoughts and was admitted to a rehab centre, the Grammy winner told the New York Times.

In the 15 songs on "Reasonable Woman," she now processes her feelings through music - in true Sia style, showing different facets of her experience.

The opener "Little Wing" gets off to a motivating and optimistic start: "Don't give up, keep trying, I know you'll soon be flying," she sings in the refrain. The whole number is backed by synthesizers and hard drums. She continues with heartbreak ballads such as "I Had A Heart" or "Nowhere To Be."

Sia's clear voice, supported by strings, delicate drums and soulful piano, is captivating. "I Forgive You" provides the emotional climax, with powerful feelings sounding from every syllable. Her voice is strong and emotionally deep up front in what is actually a simple production. A classic Sia song.

But Sia also shows other sides on the album - more groove, more pop, more positivity. This is especially the case in the collaborations with other artists.

For example, there's the previously-released single "Dance Alone" with Kylie Minogue, in which the two Australian musicians reminisce about earlier disco times. Or in "Fame Won't Love You" in which she sings alongside Paris Hilton about the negative side of fame. Both songs make it hard to sit still.

Sia's recipe for success: With her strong voice, she can express emotional heights like almost no other singer, and her lyrics are authentic and open. "Reasonable Woman" is the latest proof of her artistic power.
