‘Goosebumps’ Comes Back To TV As New Disney+ And Hulu Series: Watch The New Teaser

Generation X is seeing yet another part of their childhood come back in the form of the new version of the book-turned-TV series Goosebumps. The series comes to Disney+ and Hulu Oct. 13.
As ’90s kids know, Goosebumps was already a popular Scholastic book series by R.L. Stine that got turned into a weekly series about the things that go bump-in-the-night. Now, the new version of the series will drop a whopping five episodes as its premiere during Disney+’s “Hallowstream” and Hulu “Huluween” celebrations. The first two episodes will also air Oct. 13 on Freeform as part of the network’s “31 Nights of Halloween.” New episodes will air weekly afterward.
The series will follow five high school kids as they “embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of a teen named Harold Biddle — while also unearthing dark secrets from their parents’ past,” according to the official description. The series will star Justin Long, Rachael Harris, Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig and Will Price.
Ayo Davis, Disney Branded Television’s president, talked about the cultural cache Goosebumps has with legions of kids and kids-at-heart.
“R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps franchise is a pop culture phenomenon that holds a special place in the hearts of people of all ages,” said Davis in a statement. “We are delighted to bring this spooky new series to audiences everywhere in a big way on Disney+ and Hulu, which we hope will not only captivate new audiences with its elevated thrills and chills, but also lifelong fans nostalgic for the stories that are a staple of their generation.”
The Goosebumps series is developed and executive produced by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman. Hilary Winston and Neal H. Moritz will also executive produce with Scholastic Entertainment’s Iole Lucchese, Scholastic Entertainment’s Caitlin Friedman and Pavun Shetty, Conor Welch, Erin O’Malley and Kevin Murphy. Co-executive producers include James Eagan and Nick Adams.
