Uhh, Google? Luther Vandross is not Master P.

Yet the search engine seemed to get the two confused this week. As of Wednesday, social media users were reporting that when people searched the name of the late soulful singer and songwriter Vandross, a picture of rapper and No Limit Records founder Master P popped up instead.

By Thursday, the issue was corrected, but not before the internet – and even some famous faces – pointed out the mix-up.

American musician and record producer Questlove posted a screenshot of it to his Instagram page.

“This is why humans aren’t replaceable,” the drummer and joint frontman for the hip-hop band The Roots, wrote on his social media page, amid growing concerns about the rise of AI.

Questlove's post drew comments, many whimsical, including one reading, "Here and now, I promise to Make em say ugh..” a combination of the late R&B singer's soulful single “Here and Now” with Master P’s wild and loud 1997 hit, “Make Em Say Uhh!"

"This is hilarious," another person commented. Luther did make em say uhhhhh but in a different way when listening in the bedroom."

Percy Robert Miller Sr., who goes by the name Master P, is a 53-year-old American rapper, record producer, record executive and actor.

Vandross, who had 14 albums that went platinum or multi-platinum, died in 2005 at age 54 due to complications from a stroke.

'Dear Google'

Even a mayor in Alabama chimed in on the swap.

"Dear google," Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin posted on Twitter. "This is not Luther Vandross. This is the Colonel of the Tank. Singed, a real No Limit Soldier."

'Who is responsible for this?'

Some took offense to the mix up.

"They need David Allen Grier’s book: How to tell black people apart," a person posted on Questlove's page.

"Who is responsible for this?" one person tweeted at Google. "this is a picture of percy miller sr. aka master p, not luther vandross. i know yall think we all look alike but i can assure you we dont."
