The 90 second video, which is viewable in the U.S., Mexico, India and parts of South America, celebrates the life of Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla.

Selena rocketed to fame in the 80s in her family band Selena y Los Dinos, before later going on to be named the Female Vocalist of the Year for Tejano Music nine times in a row. She also acted, and was a big name in the world of fashion.

Selena died in 1995 at the age of 23, after being shot by the founder of her fan club, Yolanda Saldívar.

The Google Doodle above, which went live on Tuesday morning, tells an animated story of her early life and her rise to fame.
