‘Good Wife’ Writer Luke Schelhaas Lists Spanish House in Hollywood Hills (EXCLUSIVE)

A vintage 1920s Spanish house, owned, per property records, by television writer and producer Luke Schelhaas, and tucked up into the historic Hollywood Dell neighborhood, has come up for sale at a smidgen less than $1.5 million. “The Good Wife” writer/producer, whose credits include “Touched by an Angel” and “Smallville,” has owned the property since March 2009, when it was acquired for just over $1 million.

Described in listing details as “romantic and picturesque” — and briefly owned in the mid-2000s by Grammy-winning music executive Randy Spendlove — the house is perched high on a hillside above a long and slender driveway that leads to a two-car tandem garage, eco-consciously equipped with an electric car-charging station.
It’s a glute-straining climb up from the driveway to the front door that opens to a petite foyer set between an airy living room with a barrel-vaulted ceiling and a chandelier-lit formal dining room that links through to a wee sun porch. The remodeled galley kitchen, with thickly veined granite countertops on faux-distressed bone-colored cabinetry, opens to a skylit breakfast nook lined with floor-to-ceiling windows.

One bedroom is furnished as a cozy den, with floor-to-ceiling bookcases and French doors to a small private deck; a second bedroom has a private entrance and en suite bathroom; and the main floor master suite, like the living room, has a row of original arched French doors that lead to a tree-canopied terrace for al fresco dining and lounging. Fenced patios surround the house, and there’s a terraced yard space in the back where, according to listing details, “one could perhaps put a pool.”

As of today, online listings show the property is pending sale at an unknown price with an unknown buyer.
