Good Universe Hires Kelli Konop for Production Post

Production-sales company Good Universe has named veteran executive Kelli Konop as exec VP of physical production, Variety has learned exclusively.

Konop’s first projects are “Neighbors 2” for Universal, currently shooting in Atlanta, and the untitled Fede Alvarez thriller for Sony, which is in post-production.

Konop oversaw production at Mandate Pictures between 2004 and 2011 with Good Universe co-founders Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake, including “Juno,” “50/50,” “Young Adult” and “Hope Springs.” She was executive in charge of production on Ghost House films “Drag Me to Hell” and “30 Days of Night,” directed by David Slade, and a co-producer on “The Possession.”

Konop will report to Kahane and run all aspects of physical production for Good Universe’s slate of films from pre-production through post-production, including formulation of production plans, budgeting, scheduling and managing day-to-day operations.

Konop has produced 37 films, including “Bring It on Again,” “The Breed” for Sony Screen Gems and Steve James’ “Joe and Max” for Starz.

Good Universe has a slate that includes “The House,” starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler for New Line; Christmas comedy “The Night Before,” starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen and Anthony Mackie for Sony; sci-fi romance “Departure,” to be directed by David Frankel and written by Billy Ray; and “Forever Interrupted” starring Dakota Johnson.
