‘The Good Place’ Series Finale Ratings Aren’t Heavenly – But They’re Good for This Season

“The Good Place” didn’t end with what we’d call *good* TV ratings, according to Nielsen’s Live + Same Day numbers, but they were good for the show this season. Unfortunately, NBC still settled for fourth in primetime total viewers on Thursday.

ABC was first in ratings with a 0.9 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 5.15 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Station 19” at 8 p.m. put up a 1.0/5 and 6.1 million viewers. At 9, “Grey’s Anatomy” posted a 1.1/5 and 5.6 million viewers. “A Million Little Things” at 10 got a 0.6/3 and 3.8 million viewers.

CBS, Fox and NBC all tied for second in ratings, each with a 0.6/3. CBS was first in total viewers with 5.24 million, Fox was third with 3.2 million, and NBC was fourth with 2.8 million.

For CBS, “Young Sheldon” at 8 landed a 1.0/5 and 8.6 million viewers. At 8:30, “The Unicorn” had a 0.6/3 and 5.8 million viewers. “Mom” at 9 received a 0.7/3 and 6 million viewers. At 9:30, “Carol’s Second Act” drew a 0.6/3 and 4.6 million viewers. The “Evil” season finale a 10 managed a 0.5/3 and 3.2 million viewers.

For Fox, “Last Man Standing” at 8 had a 0.7/4 and 3.9 million viewers. At 8:30, “Outmatched” got a 0.6/3 and 2.3 million viewers. “Deputy” at 9 received a 0.6/3 and 3.3 million viewers.

For NBC, “Superstore” at 8 got a 0.7/4 and 2.8 million viewers. “The Good Place” finale at 8:30 had a 0.7/4 and 2.3 million viewers. Those were up double digits (on a percentage basis) from last week, and marked the show’s highest numbers since its final season premiered back in September. The post-finale special at 9:30 received a 0.6/3 and 2.1 million viewers. “Law & Order: SVU” at 10 finished primetime to a 0.6/4 and 3.6 million viewers.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.5/3 and in viewers with 1.6 million.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.4/2 and in viewers with 1.2 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 975,000. “Supernatural” at 8 had a 0.3/2 and 1.1 million viewers. At 9, “Legacies” got a 0.3/1 and 864,000 viewers.
