Five years after first introducing Northeast Florida to its ButterBurgers, cheese curds and frozen custard, Culver's has opened seven restaurants in the area from Yulee to St. Augustine.

And more are on the way.

Construction is underway at new restaurants at 4768 Hodges Blvd. in Jacksonville and 2620 Stratton Blvd. in St. Augustine. And now the Wisconsin-based chain is proposing a new restaurant on Jacksonville’s Northside.

According to a Service Availability Request filed with JEA this week, Culver’s is planning a 4,570-square-foot restaurant at Max Leggett Parkway and Hyatt Road near North Main Street.

Plans filed with the utility show a proposed 100-seat restaurant with drive-thru and 52 parking spaces on 1.66 acres. An outdoor patio would provide seating for another 24 guests.
