‘Good Girls’ Trailer: First Look At NBC’s Dramedy About Moms Taking Charge

NBC has released the first trailer for their upcoming Good Girlsstarring Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman. The series combines the empowerment of Thelma & Louise, the fun of Bad Moms, and the edge of Breaking Bad for a series that promises a unique dose of heartfelt drama and irreverent comedy.

The series comes from Jenna Bans (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy) and, as seen in the first look trailer, it follows three suburban moms (Hendricks, Retta, Whitman) who are sick and tired of trying to make ends meet. That in mind, they decide it’s time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local supermarket — with a toy gun. But when the manager catches a glimpse of one of them and the loot is far more than they expected, it doesn’t take long for the three best friends to realize the perfect getaway will be harder than they think. Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Izzy Stannard and Matthew Lillard also star. Bans executive produces Good Girls with Jeannine Renshaw. Universal Television is the studio.

Hendricks replaces Kathleen Rose Perkins, who played the role in the pilot, which was directed and executive produced by Dean Parisot. Nonetheless, the talented actresses involved gives a promise of a breakout hit while the trailer gives a generous taste of the female-driven series that leans into a world where women unapologetically take charge of their life.
