Good Friday and Easter 2022: Are city offices and grocery stores open?

The and of this week and weekend will bring two holidays: Friday, April 15 is Good Friday and Sunday, April 17 is Easter.

So what's going to be open?

Are Burlington grocery stores going to be open on Good Friday?

Yes. We called up Trader Joe's, Hannaford's, Price Chopper, City Market, Healthy Living, and Shaw's — and they're all going to be open for regular hours on Good Friday.

Are Burlington grocery stores going to be open on Easter?

Yes, but some grocery stores will close earlier.

  • Trader Joe's in South Burlington will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Easter instead of their usual 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Hannaford's locations on Dorset Street and Shelburne Road will both be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Easter instead of their usual 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

  • Price Chopper in Burlington will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Easter instead of their usual 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

  • Market 32 in Burlington will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Easter instead of their usual 6 a.m. to midnight.

City Market, Healthy Living, and Shaw's will all maintain their regular hours on Easter.

Will Burlington city offices be open on Good Friday?

Yes, according to the office of the city clerk. We called them up and they said they're not aware of any Burlington city offices being closed on Good Friday.

Will Burlington schools be open on Good Friday?

Yes, according to the Burlington School District calendar.
