GonzoFest will celebrate its 10th annual, and final, festival honoring the late journalist Hunter S. Thompson in July.

This year will be the last time people will come together at GonzoFest to commemorate Thompson, a Louisville-based journalist that created Gonzo journalism, a style of reporting that places the reporter at the center of the story in a personal way. The last installment of GonzoFest will be between noon and 2 a.m. on July 14-15 at High Horse Bar and Story Avenue lot, 1032 Story Ave.

"GonzoFest Louisville honors Hunter S. Thompson's literary legacy and the lasting mark he has made on American journalism, culture, politics," the website says about the event.

GonzoFest will have poetry, scholars and music from across the country, according to a news release. Some of the people that will participate are Tommy Bays, Freddie Bourne, Ron Whitehead, Blind Feline and John Burroughs.
