PETE THAMEL: Gonzaga's quest to become the first undefeated national champion in more than four decades is halfway home. This is Pete Thamel at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, where the Zags gave a good old fashioned thumping to number five Creighton, 83-65. Gonzaga pounced early, 9-2, forcing an early Creighton timeout and essentially cruised from there.

But the story of this game was really Drew Timme, Drew Timme, and Drew Timme. He was 10 of 14 from the field for 22 points. He added six rebounds. There was, again, the grand Gonzaga unstoppable.

Jalen Suggs, who I saw for the first time in person today, was unbelievable. He had six assists, five rebounds. He was only three of seven from the field. The way he controlled the game, he had two dives on the floor for loose balls.

He really was an authoritative presence. The kind of calming force Gonzaga is going to need moving forward. The story of today for Gonzaga is things are really going to start getting harder from here. They'll face, on Tuesday, the winner of Oregon and USC. Both of whom have the interior presence to not let Timme dominate the way he did today.

Gonzaga's next three games will be the true test of their medal. They've won 28 of their 29 by more than 10 points. Their dominance has been laughable. It's been awe inspiring, and it's been daunting. If it will continue for three more games, it will be the biggest story in Indianapolis here over the next week. This Pete Thamel from Yahoo Sports at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
