Saichi Sugimoto, a well-known war veteran, is widely recognized for his incredible resilience. After the war, he becomes fixated on locating the ancient gold belonging to the Ainu people. Throughout his journey, he is joined by Asirpa, an Ainu woman. Their paths intersect with a man who possesses a cryptic map tattooed on his body, revealing the whereabouts of the gold. While Saichi is driven by his greed for the treasure, Asirpa seeks vengeance for her father, who lost his life in pursuit of the same riches. Consequently, Asirpa agrees to accompany Saichi on his quest, on the condition that he refrains from taking lives. Meanwhile, Toraji marries Umeko with Saichi’s approval. During the war, Toraji sacrifices himself to save Saichi’s life, expressing his dying wish for the gold to secure a competent doctor for Umeko.
Golden Kamuy cast members include Kento Yamazaki, Anna Yamada, Arata Iura, Kenjiro Tsuda, Ryohei Otani, and Shuntarō Yanagi.
