Golden Globes Winners by the Numbers: ‘Green Book’ Is the Story of 2019

The Golden Globes are in the books, and “Green Book” was the story for 2019, earning three trophies on Sunday, the most of any film in competition.

Also having a fine evening were the Netflix series “The Kominsky Method,” the Fox film “Bohemian Rhapsody,” the FX miniseries “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” and Alfonso Cuarón’s “Roma,” each with two wins.

Those five were the only productions with multiple wins in the Beverly Hilton ballroom. Find the full list of winners here.

With “Versace” and TV’s top award going to “The Americans,” FX had a Sunday to celebrate. The cabler tied with Netflix — which boasted two honors for “Kominsky” and Richard Madden’s solo win for “Bodyguard” — as the network with the highest TV awards tally, each taking home three Globes apiece.

Amazon landed third place with a couple acting wins, one from “A Very English Scandal” and another from “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”

Meanwhile, Universal Pictures was the belle of the silver-screen ball, coming in as the top distributor of the night, counting those three wins for “Green Book,” along with one for “First Man.”

Tying for second place among the motion picture crowd with two wins each was Annapurna Pictures (with Regina King’s acting trophy for “If Beale Street Could Talk” and Christian Bale’s honor for “Vice”), Netflix (which took Best Motion Picture — Foreign Language for “Roma” and also grabbed Alfonso Cuarón a Globe for Best Director for the film) and Twentieth Century Fox (which saw “Bohemian Rhapsody” take the honor of 2019’s top movie drama and lead Rami Malek win for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in the Queen biopic).
