Golden Globes Reveal Voters for 2024 Awards

The Golden Globes have revealed the full list of voters who will be voting on its 2024 awards.

The group of 300 journalists from around the world is 60 percent racially and ethnically diverse, the organization said Monday, proclaiming that the voting body is the “most ethnically diverse of all the major awards shows.”

“Our commitment to maintaining the diversity of our voting body continues,” Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne said in a statement. “Our voters represent 76 countries bringing a unique international perspective on nominating the best in motion pictures and television this year.”

Countries represented by the voting group include Armenia, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Serbia and Tanzania. The voting body is 47 percent female and 26.3 percent of the group identify as Latinx, 13 percent as Asian, 11 percent Black and 9 percent Middle Eastern.

In order to be selected, the Globes said, voters “underwent a rigorous review and accreditation process” with the new membership board of directors made up of a diverse group of mostly outside media professionals.

“I was very impressed by the number of global applicants and the quality of their work,” said Globes’ executive vp Tim Gray. “The membership committee had a tough time narrowing down the field, but we’re all pleased with the results.”

The 81st annual Golden Globe Awards is set to take place on Jan. 7, with nominations set to be announced Dec. 11. While the Globes is currently without a broadcast or streaming distribution partner, the show recently named Emmy-winning producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner as showrunners, with Weiss set to direct. Dick Clark Productions owns and produces the Golden Globe Awards.

Back in June, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association was replaced as the backers of the annual Golden Globe Awards following the acquisition of all the HFPA’s assets, rights and properties by Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge. DCP is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge that also owns The Hollywood Reporter.
