Golden Globes Kick-Off Party Draws A-List Attendees

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association kicked off awards season on Thursday evening at Catch LA in West Hollywood, Calif. Stars such as Marion Cotillard, Chris Pine, Hailee Steinfeld and Gina Rodriguez were among the A-list celebrities in attendance.

Partnered with InStyle and FIJI water, the HFPA also announced Miss Golden Globe 2017 — or rather, Misses Golden Globe. This year, history was made when HFPA President Lorenzo Soria declared that Sylvester Stallone’s three daughters, Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet, would all share the distinction.

“It’s an unbelievable honor,” Sophia told Variety. “We didn’t realize this would ever happen to us because we’ve always been very quiet and laid back, so when they told us this was happening, we were ecstatic. To be sharing this with my sisters makes it all the better.”

While the results of Tuesday’s presidential election still weighed heavy on everyone’s minds, the atmosphere was lighthearted and festive as guests were welcomed with champagne upon entering the restaurant’s rooftop lounge. Tony Hale (“Veep”) was seen snacking on hors d’oeuvres while making the rounds, while Marion Cotillard was nestled quietly in the corner with her partner for most of the evening. Regardless of who chose to mingle or keep to themselves, Thursday evening was a successful precursor for the awards ceremony.

Inside, “The Help” stars Octavia Spencer and Jessica Chastain warmly embraced. Also in attendance was their costar Emma Stone.

With the bulk of awards season jamborees right around the corner, it’s easy to get caught up in the mayhem. However, the Stallone sisters have a plan to stay ahead of the curve before their big night.”

“We’ll prepare by staying in shape and looking our best all the time,” Sistine said. “And practicing our walks, because none of us really walk in heels all that much.”

The 74th annual Golden Globe Awards will take place Sunday, Jan. 7, 2017 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.
