The Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy TV Series Goes to ‘Schitt’s Creek’

The results are in, and we have another winner!

Tonight, television’s biggest stars virtually gathered for the 2021 Golden Globes. During the 78th annual ceremony, Schitt’s Creek took home the award for Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy.

The popular series beat out a majorly impressive list of nominees, including Emily in Paris (Netflix), The Flight Attendant (HBO Max), The Great (Hulu) and Ted Lasso (Apple TV+).

Last year, Fleabag was honored with the award, beating out Barry, The Kominsky Method, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and The Politician. Other previous winners include The Kominsky Method, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Atlanta, Mozart in the Jungle, Transparent, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Girls, Modern Family, Glee, 30 Rock, Extras, Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sex and the City, Ally McBeal, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Cybill, Mad About You, Seinfeld, Roseanne, Brooklyn Bridge and Cheers.

Before having its own category, this award grouped together musical, comedy and drama series, and was called the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series. Lucky for us, this all-encompassing category ended in 1968.

The 78th annual Golden Globes were hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. The pair previously served as hosts in 2013, 2014 and 2015—however, this is the first time they did it from opposite sides of the country.

Congrats to the entire cast and crew!
