Marriage Story leads Golden Globe movies nominations

The Golden Globe Awards 2020 nominations have arrived, officially kickstarting the awards race.

Netflix's Marriage Story leads the movies field with six nominations, while Sony's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Netflix's The Irishman landed five nominations each, and Warner Bros' Joker and Netflix's The Two Popes earned four nods apiece.

Dakota Fanning, Susan Kelechi Watson and Tim Allen were among the stars tasked with delivering this year's nominations across both the movies and TV categories, with Ricky Gervais hosting the ceremony on January 5 for the fifth – and final – time.

We already knew that Tom Hanks will be honoured with the Cecil B DeMille Award, recognising his dedication and achievement in movies, while Ellen DeGeneres will receive the TV equivalent, the Carol Burnett Award.

The 77th Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday, January 5 at The Beverly Hilton from 8pm ET (5pm PT).
