Bring out your lawn chairs and get ready, Golden Eagle Welcome Week is underway through Sunday at Southern Miss to help orient new students before classes begin and fun events are happening throughout town, including the 15th year of live music on Friday at Town Square Park.

Also this weekend is the Hub City Wine Festival, so get your taste buds ready wine tasters to try different wines from around the world Saturday at Downtown Hattiesburg's The Bottling Company.

Live music from local Mississippi group Mile High Rangers, ladies bowling night and a live game tournament is also on slate Saturday at Top Tier Board Games.

Downtown SummerTunes with Holley Rumbarger & The New Relics

Enjoy a night of live music by Holley Rumbarger and The New Relics this weekend.

  • Time: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Hub City Wine Festival

Discover & taste 100-plus wines from around the world selected by The Little Wine Shoppe at Downtown Hattiesburg's The Bottling Company. Visitors must be 21 years and older to participate in the wine tasting.

  • When: Saturday, Aug. 19

  • Where: The Bottling Company, 126 Mobile St., Hattiesburg

  • Admission: $45 - $130

  • Time: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Ladies' Roll & Bowl

Women are invited to Hub Bowling Lanes and to enjoy a ladies only night out.

  • When: Saturday, Aug. 19

  • Where: Hub Bowling Lanes, 7022 U.S. 49, Hattiesburg

  • Admission: $11 per game

  • Time: 5 p.m.

Mile High Rangers Band Live

Mississippi-based folk/rock band Mile High Rangers, will perform live Friday at Hattiesburger and Blues.

  • Time: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Combat Patrol Tournament

Come out and celebrate the launch of the new Combat Patrol game mode with a live tournament Saturday at Top Tier Board Games.
