The ceremony is set to air in January.

The Bachelor franchise is back in the wedding special business.

Tonight on The Golden Bachelor: After the Final Rose, host Jesse Palmer announced that Gerry Turner and his bride-to-be, Theresa Nist, will get the full TV-wedding treatment with a special broadcast on ABC.

"We are going to get married. We're going to do it as quickly as we can, because at our age, we don't have a lot of time to waste," joked Turner. "So as quickly as we can put together a wedding plan, we're getting married."

Looks like ABC has a little over a month to put together Gerry and Theresa's big day: Palmer announced that The Golden Wedding will air Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024.

Theresa and Gerry announce their wedding plans on 'The Golden Bachelor' finale

It's been quite a while since ABC has devoted an entire special to a Bachelor Nation couple's wedding. Yes, we've seen some weddings wedged into episodes of Bachelor in Paradise (Marcus and Lacey, Evan and Carly, Chris and Krystal), and the show featured Tanner and Jade's wedding as part of The Bachelor 20: A Celebration of Love anniversary special. But we haven't seen an entire episode dedicated to a Bachelor wedding since J.P. and Ashley in 2012 (which I completely do not remember recapping) and Catherine and Sean in 2014 (a ceremony I do remember attending).

Earlier on The Golden Bachelor season finale, Gerry, 72, and Theresa, 70, got engaged in Costa Rica. The proposal came one day after Gerry's brutal break-up with Leslie Fhima, a 64-year-old fitness instructor from Minneapolis.
