Gerry’s search for love on The Golden Bachelor continued this week — but with one less lady to choose from.
Marina, who received a rose from Gerry in last week’s premiere, was nowhere to be seen in this Thursday’s Episode 2. There’s a good reason for that: A source confirms to TVLine that Marina chose to step away from the show due to an urgent family matter. Marina’s departure was not addressed on-camera, but she was noticeably missing from this week’s group date and rose ceremony.

Gerry and Marina did seem to have a connection in the premiere, giggling together over lingo like “dope” and “rizz” that their children and grandchildren shared with them. With Marina gone, Gerry handed out roses to the remaining women on this Thursday’s episode, with three more women being sent home. (Read our full recap here.)
Following Marina’s surprise exit, 12 women remain in the running for Gerry’s final rose, with new episodes of The Golden Bachelor airing Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC. A first for the Bachelor franchise, The Golden Bachelor features 71-year-old widower Gerry Turner hoping to get a second chance at love by choosing from a bevy of women ages 60 and up.
