ABC has released photos and biographical information for the 22 women competing to win the heart of 71-year-old widow Gerry Turner in the inaugural season of the mature Bachelor offshoot. The women range in age from 60 to 75, and most of them have more substantial career accomplishments under their belts than the influencers and wannabes that fill up the usual Bachelor/ette roster… although one contestant does have previous experience with the franchise: Patty is former Bachelor Matt James’ mother!
As for Gerry (pronounced “Gary”), he’s ready to find love again after his wife of 43 years, Toni, passed away in 2017. “The women arriving at the mansion have a lifetime of experience, living through love, loss and laughter, hoping for a spark that ignites a future full of endless possibilities,” per the official synopsis. “In the end, will our Golden man turn the page to start a new chapter with the woman of his dreams?”
The Golden Bachelor premieres Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8/7c on ABC, ahead of a new season of Bachelor in Paradise.
