The engaged couple found themselves in the middle of a mock wedding on 'Live with Kelly and Mark'
The Golden Bachelor’s Gerry Turner and his fiancée Theresa Nist are one step ahead in their wedding prep, thanks to Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos!
While appearing on Tuesday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the engaged couple partook in an impromptu dress rehearsal ahead of their official wedding — and, thankfully, they happened to be wearing outfits just right for the occasion.
Turner, 72, looked dapper in a classic gray suit teamed with a lilac button-up shirt and coordinating tie.
Nist, 70, wore a glamorous black mini dress with rhinestones, which matched her silver manicure, and heeled ankle boots. (Nist had shared a peek at their outfits earlier this month before the episode aired.)
“We understand that they want you guys to get married on TV,” Ripa says in the clip, pointing out that Consuelos is an ordained minister. “And since we’re all gathered here today,” she continues while a processional song begins to play, “We can just do the wedding right here.”
Ripa then hands Nist a bouquet of white roses and Turner a ring pillow. The surprised couple laugh at the props.
The soon-to-be newlyweds exchange promises to love one another “forever” with the help of Consuelos’ script. And, just as Consuelos starts to close out the rehearsal wedding, Nist playfully rejects his confirmation, saying, “We’re not ready!”
“You may now suck on your ring pops,” announces Ripa.
While sweet, the candy accessory can’t out-beat the “vintage-inspired” Neil Lane engagement ring Turner proposed with on The Golden Bachelor season finale.
“The symbolism of it is so important,” Turner told PEOPLE exclusively of the sparkler. “It was just like, the minute she slipped it on, again, it was like, ‘Oh, my god, this is that joyful happiness that I want to feel, that I want everyone to see.’”
Turner chose a princess cut diamond ring accented with two baguette cut diamonds, and further set with 128 small, round brilliant cut diamonds for a total weight of 3.15 carats. The ring was handcrafted and hand signed by Lane.
When it was announced to the world that Nist was the lucky winner to receive Turner’s final rose, she was incredibly glad to finally be able to wear her new rock.
“It was gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous,” she told PEOPLE of her ring. “I get to wear it, finally. It's been such a long time. They took this away from me so quickly. It's beautiful, beyond. Beyond, beyond. So gorgeous. I love it.”

Turner and Nist made their official red carpet debut at a Golden Bachelor screening and panel in N.Y.C. earlier this month.
He stepped out in a navy suit jacket and pants with a light blue dress shirt and coordinating patterned tie while she wore a tan ribbed mock-neck dress with a bright red long coat.
Fans of the pair can watch the next chapter of their love story unfold during their wedding special airing live on ABC on Jan. 4.
