Hayley Orrantia and Greg Furman are officially husband and wife!

The Goldbergs star and her fiancé gathered with 200 of their friends and family members at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu on Oct. 14 where they said 'I do.' Orrantia tells PEOPLE that the best part of the night was having all of her favorite people in one place.

“We just wanted the night to feel like friends and family are in an extension of our own home — a very living room vibe,” the actress says, adding, “It just fit perfectly with what we've always been envisioning.”

the pair first met six years ago after a Goldbergs coworker introduced the them. Orrantia says she “thought he was really cute,” but they didn’t see each other again until six months later.

“I saw his videos come up on my [Instagram] page, and I just thought, ‘This guy's so funny, I just want to hang out with him,’ so I actually slid in the DMs,” she reveals. “I asked if we could go get coffee. So pretty much from there that was about it — we've been together ever since.”

Furman popped the question in May 2022. The weekend wedding festivities, which were planned by Karli Spangler Events, kicked off with a welcome party and rehearsal dinner, where Orrantia wore a thrifted, white Badgley Mischka dress that she stumbled upon while shopping with Furman and his parents in Nashville.

“That was just a really fun, unexpected find, and I love being able to incorporate that I found it in the way that I did, when I did,” she says.

For her big day, Orrantia wore a “beaded flapper girl” Liz Martinez gown with a detachable chiffon skirt so she could dance the night away after saying 'I do.' Because the actress has worn many “princess” style gowns for red carpets and events, she says she wanted to do something different — and the first dress she tried on ended up being the one.

“I am the kind of girl that's like immediately getting barefoot, and I'm on the dance floor the whole night,” Orrantia says. “So I needed something that I could dance in, but I also was like, ‘Do I really want to have two dresses? This is my wedding dress. I want to be in it the whole night.’ And this specific dress was so perfect.”

Inspired by the colors of autumn, the couple's ceremony incorporated shades of terracotta, burnt orange and rust tones, and included florals by Joy of Bloom with “lots of greenery.” Her seven bridesmaids wore dresses they each chose themselves in the same color scheme.

After doing a first look with Furman, the bride walked down the aisle to “I Just Love You” by Roo Panes. Against the background of the sunset, the pair read personal vows, which Orrantia reveals they spent months piecing together.

“It's the little things,” she gushes. “He and I love our weekends together, having coffee. And we'll do the Sunday paper crossword puzzle like we're old people — that's one of my favorite things.”

During cocktail hour, guests were greeted with shrimp skewers, truffle mushroom flatbread and cheeseburger sliders. For dinner, Orrantia says they served chaat masala (a personal favorite), a truffle filet (at the request of Furman) and honey nut squash as a vegetarian option.

“Probably one of my favorite parts of the planning was tasting, because you're just getting to literally eat everything and they're giving you all this wine,” she remembers, “That was such a fun day.”

For dessert, they cut into a red velvet swirl cake from the Vanilla Bake Shop with ivory icing that featured watercolor-like design of orange tones to match the wedding's theme.

The reception was full of music — the guests signed cards and put them into a large guitar case as they entered the venue — and after Orrantia and Furman had their first dance to Schitt’s Creek star Noah Reid’s rendition of “Simply the Best,” everyone enjoyed the Jordan Khan Band. As the night neared the end, the newlyweds decided to surprise their guests with a silent disco.

“This is so goofy, but one of the reasons I was so looking forward to it is because I've seen videos that people take where they're just panning through the room of people dancing,” Orrantia jokes. “I think it's hilarious that there's no music happening out loud, but you just hear people heavily breathing. It makes me laugh so hard.”

The party didn’t stop there. On Sunday, the couple and their wedding party joined guests for a brunch before ending the weekend.

Now, Furman and Orrantia are off on their two-and-a-half week honeymoon in Europe. They're starting in Rome, where they plan to take cooking classes and sightsee, before heading to Greece.

“We're doing Santorini and Athens,” she reveals. “We're looking forward to Santorini being just relaxing by the pool and eating all the amazing food.”

She adds that their only “big trip together” was Paris for Christmas years ago, so that will be their last stop.“ It is so special to us," she says.
