South Florida will be under a national spotlight thanks to one of its hometown stars.

"Bachelorette" and "Special Forces" star Tyler Cameron is set to release his Amazon Prime show "Going Home with Tyler Cameron" this Friday, April 18.

In an interview with the USA Today Florida Network, Cameron talked about learning while on the job and what it means to put Jupiter in the limelight.

"This was my first time really boots on the ground, getting after it … and you're gonna see, I don't always do things right and I mess up a little bit because I'm kind of learning as I go right now," Cameron told. "I think that's really the fun part about this show is you're gonna grow up with me as I do these renovations. You're gonna learn with me because I'm learning episode by episode by episode."

What is 'Going Home with Tyler Cameron' about?

"Going Home with Tyler Cameron" follows the reality television star as he follows his dream of starting his own construction and home renovation company.

"After the sudden loss of his mother, Tyler moved back to his hometown, Jupiter, Florida, to reunite with his family and finally achieve his goal of launching his business, Image One," Amazon Prime's description says. "With the help of his team members - house-flipping expert, Robb Ritch, and Miami-based interior designer, Jessica Quintero - Tyler builds his company from the ground up, exceeding his clients’ expectations one home renovation at a time."

The season ends with the most important renovation project of them all – turning the house that Tyler’s late mom left behind into the family home that she always dreamed of.

What happened to Tyler Cameron's mom?

In 2020, Tyler Cameron’s mother, Andrea Cameron, suddenly passed away due to a brain aneurysm.

His new show not only follows Cameron as he and his “Bachelor” nation friends renovate local homes, but also follows his journey in renovating the house his mom left to him. It was supposed to be her dream house and was paid off just before she passed. Cameron said the process of renovating was bittersweet.

"The whole goal of the show was to surprise her and the crazy story behind it all is we were going to film the sizzle reel for this show. And the day before we did that, my mother passed away,” Cameron said.  “And the week before that, my dad gave her the last payment for the house, like 'It's officially paid off. It's yours.' My whole thing was I was gonna surprise her with the renovation."

"It was tough. It was hard but we still made it to what she would have wanted it to be...  It was very bittersweet in the sense that I would love to give her those keys."

Cameron told the USA TODAY Network-Florida about seeing the home completed in the final episode.

"My mom's house, having everyone together, the true raw emotions … I bawled my eyes (out). I cried a bunch and it was special. It was something that I think people are going to, be able to see, relate to, understand and feel what I went through and what THAT house means to all of us. I think it's a special, special moment and I'm so glad that I get to share this with everybody."

Cameron said he always wanted to go down this career path after watching his dad do it growing up.

"I loved it because it was tangible. He saw something that started with a dirt lot and then 1,000 little pieces later, it turns into this amazing house that you hand over and it becomes someone's home. I always thought that was special and I always thought you can create a special moment with people by doing that and give them something that they can cherish for a long time."

He added while he loves the show business side of his career, he always wanted to have something outside of it and that he could work on every day.

Who will appear on 'Going Home with Tyler Cameron'?

The series features appearances by Bachelor Nation stars Matt James, Rachael Kirkconnell, Jason Tartick and even Cameron’s former flame and "The Bachelorette" of his season, Hannah Brown.

Cameron was cast for season 15 of “The Bachelorette” in 2019, with Brown leading the season. Throughout the season, Cameron quickly rose up in both Brown's and Bachelor Nation's rankings. By mid-season, he was dubbed as a fan favorite due to his charisma, his quickness to shut down drama created by fan-chosen villain Luke Pell, and his romantic actions towards Hannah.

He ended up making it to the final two spots. But shockwaves were felt around the reality television universe when Cameron exited the limo on the final episode and Brown turned down his proposal.

Since then, the pair have both maintained that they are on good terms after everything they have been through.  Brown was brought in to help with the interior design of a home for a local woman, Karen, who is a big fan of hers and “The Bachelor” franchise.

“She was so professional. She came in, gave a beautiful design and she was great to Karen… There were tears, tons of tears when Karen and Dan got into the bedroom, so it worked out perfectly."
