GREEN BAY - The last time the Green Bay Packers had a two-band bill for their Kickoff Weekend concert was the one that started it all in 2016 with Blues Traveler and Everclear.

The home opener tradition continues on Saturday with another double shot of ’90s rock from Collective Soul and Stone Temple Pilots outside Lambeau Field ahead of Sunday’s noon game against the New Orleans Saints. Whether you’re all about Collective Soul’s “December” in September or you’re just there for STP’s “Interstate Love Song,” here are six quick things to know about the free show.

When and where?

Music starts at 5 p.m. Saturday on the northwest side of Lambeau Field, across Ridge Road from the Titletown District. The stage setup will be similar to last season’s Train concert, with the majority of the crowd gathering in the parking lot rather than spilling back across Ridge Road, which will be closed to vehicle traffic during the concert.

Collective Soul will be up first at 5 p.m. Saturday for the Kickoff Weekend concert on the northwest side of Lambeau Field.

Which band is playing first?

Collective Soul is scheduled to go on at 5 p.m. After a roughly half-hour break to switch over stage equipment, STP will perform. Expect about a three-hour event, start to finish.

Collective Soul will stick around on Sunday to sing the national anthem at the game.

What can I bring along?

Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. Food and beverages will be sold onsite, both in the Lambeau lot and in Titletown. Remember that all operations at Lambeau and Titletown are cashless, including the portable bars for the concert.

Jeff Gut will lead Stone Temple Pilots through such hits as "Plush," "Vasoline" and "Interstate Love Song" during a free concert Saturday in the Lambeau Field parking lot.

What about parking?

It’s free in west-side Lambeau Field lots on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking lots will be open as normal throughout the day, but some areas on the north and west sides of the stadium will be blocked off for the concert.

The east side of the stadium will be open, as Lambeau Field businesses are open their normal hours on Saturday. Lot 9 on the south end of Lambeau will also be open.

With many fans in town for Sunday's game, Lambeau is expected to be busy on Saturday with visitors to the Packers Hall of Fame and Packers Pro Shop as well as for stadium tours. Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early if they want to park in the Lambeau lots.

How does the weather look?

As far as temperatures go, it's looking like everything you could want from the first day of fall on Packers home opener weekend in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The National Weather Service is forecasting a high of 76 with partly sunny skies. There is, however, a chance of showers, with a low around 60.

Just curious: When is the last time each band was here?

Collective Soul, featuring founding brothers Ed and Dean Roland and original bassist Will Turpin, hasn't been to Green Bay for decades, not since sold-out shows at The Weidner in the late '90s. The band last played in the area with 3 Doors Down and Loverboy at the Greenville Lions Catfish Concert in Greenville in 2019.

STP, which has been fronted by Jeff Gutt since 2017, performed not far from Lambeau, at the EPIC Event Center in Ashwaubenon, in 2021. Original lead singer Scott Weiland and a reunited STP also memorably played Three Clans Ballroom at Oneida Casino, one of the smallest venues of the tour, in 2008.
