Gogglebox's Stephen Webb apologises for pushing woman in pool

Gogglebox star Stephen Webb has apologising for pushing a woman into a swimming pool.

The incident occurred at exclusive club Brighton Beach House and Webb now says it was not his 'intention' to hurt the woman.

It was reported by The Sun that Webb was initially pushed into the swimming pool by another party and became angry at the woman for laughing at the practical joke.

Webb detailed his version of events in his apology: "I am very sorry if she felt upset or hurt by my actions. That was never my intention. I’d been swimming and having dried and got fully dressed, a friend pushed me back into the pool."

He added: "I took it in very good spirits and everyone was laughing and joking so seeing his friend sat on the edge of the pool, pulled her round her waist into the water with me. We’d enjoyed a really good time together and I felt it was all part of the fun."

Since the incident, Webb has made his previously public Instagram account private.

Webb was also recently criticised by his ex-partner and former Gogglebox co-star Chris Ashby-Steed who accused him of 'bullying' behaviour.

He previously wrote on Twitter: “A year on, I’ve finally had the courage to stand up to a bully and start to tell the story of how @Stephenwebb71 forced me off @C4Gogglebox and how it’s affected my mental health since. Hopefully, the truth of my story will help others who are struggling."

Ashby-Smith was then replaced with Webb's mother, a move which Ashby-Smith's husband claims resulted in the reality star having 'mental health issues'.

Webb has appeared on the popular Channel 4 reality show since 2013.
