Marvel Comics has released a first-look preview for the upcoming seventh issue of Immortal Thor by Al Ewing and Martin Coccolo.

Written by Ewing and illustrated by Coccolo, Immortal Thor #7 arrives in comic shops at the end of next month. The issues features a cover by Alex Ross. At this time, Marvel has shared a number of unlettered preview pages — in which Thor and Loki encounter Utgard-Loki. Elsewhere, Enchantress and the Executioner team up with Roxxon CEO Dario Agger, better known as the Minotaur. Finally, the aforementioned God of Thunder finds himself in a battle with a giant, green serpent.

What to expect from Immortal Thor #7 – and beyond

An official synopsis for Immortal Thor #7 reads as follows: “THE TRIALS OF UTGARD! Young Thor faced the tricks of the Utgard-Loki, with all that lived at stake — in a tale twice-told and now told again. Yet the teller was the Skald of Realms, in their aspect as Thor’s enemy. And thus, the tale could twist upon itself — and if Thor faltered, it could make a new end. This is the story of the IMMORTAL THOR … and the story may yet destroy us all.”

Of course, Marvel has already revealed what the future holds for Thor’s ongoing conflict with Minotaur and the Roxxon Energy Corporation. The publisher recently announced Roxxon Presents: Thor #1, a meta spin-off one-shot that sees Roxxon actually purchase the rights to Thor — and introduce its own, corporate-shill version of the iconic hero. Written by Ewing and illustrated by Greg Land, Roxxon Presents: Thor #1 arrives on Wednesday, April 17 (two weeks after the release of Immortal Thor #9 by Ewing and Ibraim Roberson).

In the meantime, Immortal Thor #7 goes on sale Wednesday, February 28 from Marvel Comics.
