GOAL! Where to watch Women's FIFA games in RI

The FIFA Women's World Cup has begun with 32 nations competing on the pitch in Australia and New Zealand through Aug. 19. The competition will be fierce with the U.S. women seeking their third straight title.

Some of the games are being broadcast over the air on Fox Providence. But for sports fans, there is nothing like that shared viewing experience on a big screen TV.

Unlike the 2022 FIFA World Cup for men, most local bars and restaurants have not been in a rush to share their planned events for that communal experience.

The US Soccer Team hopes to take home the FIFA trophy as they did here in 2015 and again in 2019.

Here are four places that have plans for the next week.

The GPub

At the Providence G, the games will be on 17 plus TVs at The GPub, 61 Orange St., not just live but running on replay, too, so you don't miss any game due to the time zone difference.

There will be drink specials including the Cherry Bomb Pop Sangria ($11), a red, white and blue drink. There will be promos and giveaways including a raffle for a stay at the Graduate Providence, gift card for the GPub, dessert at Sarto and a private firepit on the Rooftop at the G.

There will be a Watch Party for the big USA/Netherlands game on Wednesday, July 26 from 8-11 p.m. with a 9 p.m. match start. It's sponsored by High Limb Cider and Butterfly Cannon Blue Tequila who will give away swag.

Snookers has 60 TVs, and with the audio played through the sound system, you can get an "at the stadium" feel.
