Global Road Entertainment Acquires Stanley Tucci-Starring Thriller ‘The Silence’

Global Road Entertainment has secured the U.S. distribution rights to The Silence, a suspense thriller from Annabelle director the John Leonetti. Stanley Tucci (Spotlight), Kiernan Shipka (AMC’s Mad Men), Miranda Otto (Annabelle: Creation), and John Corbett (HBO’s Sex and the City) star in the pic, which is based the novel by fantasy-horror writer Tim Lebbon.

It centers on a family struggling to survive in a world terrorized by a deadly, primeval species who have bred for decades in the pitch darkness of a vast underground cave system, hunting only with their acute hearing. As the family seeks refuge in a remote haven where they can wait out the invasion, they start to wonder what kind of world will remain when they’re ready to emerge.

The Van Dyke Brothers, Carey and Shane adapted the screenplay. Producers are Robert Kulzer, Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lambert (AMC’s The Terror). Constantin CEO Martin Moszkowicz serves as executive producer.

The deal was negotiated on behalf of Global Road by John Zois with Nick Hanks of Constantin Film and CAA’s Benjamin Kramer on behalf of the filmmakers.
