Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei is claiming the title of the first royal wedding of 2024 in glamorous fashion.

The prince, who is marrying his fiancée Anisha Isa Kalebic, is set to take part in a lavish 10-day ceremony beginning on Jan. 7, which will include banquets, musical accompaniment and the potential for some royal guests.

Three months after the announcement was made, the ornate wedding is set to kick off with a "ceremony of the proposal of marriage to receive the Royal Command," per Hello! magazine. On Jan. 11, the prince and his fiancée will exchange wedding vows at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, according to Hello!

Three days later on Jan. 14, the new couple's royal banquet will be held, with guests invited from across the globe. On that same day, a parade is set to be held around Brunei’s capital, Bandar Seri Begawan. Festivities will conclude on Jan. 16.

While the names of guests have not been officially announced, it's worth noting that both Prince Abdul Mateen and his father were in attendance at the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla as well as Queen Elizabeth's funeral. Back in 2011, the Sultan attended the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, so it's possible that various royals from around the globe could be spotted among the crowd during the prince's big day.

News of the prince's engagement first came to light via an official statement from his father, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, in October 2023.

Mateen is the Sultan's fourth son and 10th child. Kalebic is the granddaughter of the Sultan's special advisor, Pehin Dato Isa, and has reportedly been dating the prince for a few years.

For his most recent Instagram post, Prince Abdul Mateen shared an image of himself and his fiancée to commemorate the new year and one week until the beginning of their wedding ceremony, captioning the photo "Wishing you all the best for 2024 💫," which shows the couple standing side-by-side on what appears to be a balcony.

Mateen cuts a dashing figure in a blue suit, while Anisha smiles beside him in a chic cream pantsuit. She also crosses her hands in front of her, showing off a large diamond engagement ring.
