‘Glitch’ Gets Second Season For Global Distribution On Netflix

Ahead of its Season 1 global launch tomorrow on Netflix, critically praised Australian drama series Glitch has been confirmed for a second season. The six-episode hourlong paranormal saga will air globally on Netflix outside of Australia and on ABC in Australia in 2017.

Glitch is about love, loss, and what it means to be human. The small town of Yoorana overnight becomes a gothic backdrop to an epic story from the most unlikely visitors – the dead. As the Risen discover who they are and why they have returned, those around them are also faced with a disturbing new reality, challenging all the beliefs and ideals they held dear. In season two, the Risen unravel the mystery of how and why they are back, but their journey of reconciliation and revenge is soon disrupted by another lethal threat.

The series’ star ensemble cast includes Patrick Brammall (Upper Middle Bogan, Offspring), Rodger Corser (Party Tricks, Rush), Emma Booth (Cloud Street, Jack Irish), Emily Barclay (Suburban Mayhem, Lou), Genevieve O’Reilly (Episodes, Star War Episode III), Andrew McFarlane (Devil’s Playground), Daniela Farinacci (Redfern Now, Lantana), Sean Keenan (Puberty Blues) and Ned Dennehy (Sherlock Holmes).

Glitch was created by Tony Ayres (The Slap, Cut Snake, Nowhere Boys) and Louise Fox (Broadchurch, Dead Europe).

Netflix will co-produce the second season alongside the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Matchbox Pictures, a division of NBCUniversal International Studios.
