Glen Powell has had some memorable romances onscreen, but in real life he keeps his relationships pretty private.

The actor, who has gained mass popularity for his roles in romantic comedies such as Set It Up and Anyone But You, has only been linked to a handful of women over the years.

His most recent relationship was with model Gigi Paris, whom he dated for over three years before they broke up in April 2023 amid filming for his latest movie Anyone But You.

During an interview with Bustle in December 2023, Powell got candid about his love life as he talked about being single in the spotlight.

“I’ve been talking to some people in my life and they’re like, ‘Glen, you’re a single guy. I know you’re trying to do all the right things in all the right ways, but you just have to embrace that those failures will be a little more public, a little more hurtful than maybe most people, maybe a little more embarrassing, but it’s OK. But when you’re going to fall, and you will inevitably fall in love, it’ll work,’ ” he told the publication.

One of Powell’s first relationships in the spotlight was with actress Nina Dobrev. The duo first sparked dating rumors in January 2017 after they rang in the New Year with friends in Texas. That same month, Powell was spotted at the Los Angeles premiere of Dobrev's film xXx: Return of Xander Cage, and they attended a Golden Globes afterparty together.

He was also at her La La Land-themed birthday party that month, where they dressed up as Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling’s characters and recreated the signature pose from the Oscar-winning film.

PEOPLE later confirmed the two were dating after photo booth pictures of them surfaced from Julianne Hough's Idaho wedding to hockey player Brooks Laich that July.

However, that November, a source told PEOPLE the two were taking some time apart as Dobrev dealt with her busy filming schedule.

Despite their breakup, the two have remained cordial with one another as they were spotted sharing a laugh at the 2020 InStyle and Warner Bros. Golden Globe afterparty. In August 2022, they reunited during the Omega Masters as Dobrev snapped a photo with Powell, her boyfriend Shaun White and Vampire Diaries costar Paul Wesley. Dobrev also attended the London premiere of Powell’s film Top Gun: Maverick that year, where she made her red carpet debut with White.

After splitting from Dobrev in 2017, Powell was linked to Australian TV host Renee Bargh. The pair sparked relationship rumors in November 2018 as Us Weekly reported they had been dating for six months.

That same month, Bargh and Powell were photographed together at the actor’s '80s-themed 30th birthday party, which also included his ex Dobrev, John Stamos, Rachel Bilson and Chord Overstreet, among others.

Their relationship was short-lived as a year later Bargh told Daily Mail she was single and looking for a “good Aussie boy.”

The Top Gun: Maverick star was first linked to model Gigi Paris in early 2020 when they were spotted on a romantic vacation in Mexico. The couple made their relationship Instagram official a year later.

In addition to sharing numerous flirty exchanges on social media, they also made a handful of red carpet appearances together, including the 2023 Golden Globes and the global premiere of Top Gun: Maverick, where Powell also had the support of his parents.

In August 2022, Powell talked with PEOPLE about Paris’ support as he reflected on all the viral TikToks about his shirtless beach scenes from the movie. "My girlfriend [Gigi Paris was] the first one to send me all the thirst trap TikToks that have come from it, which is all very flattering," he said.

He added that having her support at the premiere was a super special moment. "My family and my girlfriend, they know how much this movie means to me and how much the cast means to me," he said. "Especially after we didn't know if we were going to get to have a premiere or put it out in theaters, to have that celebration together, especially with my family who sacrificed so much for me to even pursue this dream, [was] incredible."

In April 2023, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Powell and Paris were no longer together. "Gigi and Glen had broken up several times," the source told PEOPLE at the time. "They had been on the rocks since Top Gun came out. Gigi was never happy with the long-distance filming, and when she came to Australia [where Powell was filming Anyone But You] they both decided to break up for good."

The split came around the same time Powell sparked romance rumors with his costar Sydney Sweeney (who is engaged to Jonathan Davino). Both costars have denied any offscreen romance, with Powell later telling Men's Health the publicity surrounding them “felt disorienting and unfair.”

He further expanded on the speculation surrounding his relationship with Sweeney in an interview with Business Insider, admitting they played up the flirty exchanges to promote their film.

"I'll pretty much give Sydney all the credit for this," Powell told the outlet in December 2023. "I don't have the mental capacity to pull anything like this off, but she's very smart. She's very smart. I had such a wonderful journey with her on this thing."

“The only reason it made things harder for me to lean into that stuff was that I was going through a very real breakup amidst a promotional tour,” he continued, referencing his split from Paris. "I was with someone that I really loved and cared about and was trying to kind of make sense of a lot of stuff. It was a lot easier for Sydney to lean into something like that because she's in a very committed and wonderful relationship and she's very happy. So it was a little harder for me."
