Gisele Bündchen is reflecting on her personal transformation following her mother’s recent death.

The supermodel, 43, shared a poignant quote from Ecuadorian author Yung Pueblo in an Instagram post on Friday, after losing her mother, Vânia Nonnenmacher, last month.

“Personal transformation is not easy," the quote that Bündchen shared began. "Healing yourself takes time."

"Letting go can sometimes feel overwhelming. Building new habits can seem like an uphill battle. Even with all of these challenges inner-work is worth it. This active form of self-love can radically change your life," she concluded, signing off the post with Pueblo's name, before reiterating the quote in Portuguese.

Alongside her emotional message, Bündchen also shared a photo of herself standing on a balcony, gazing at a sunset behind a vast landscape of buildings and mountains peaking through the clouds.

Nonnenmacher died at age 75 on Jan. 28 from cancer. She was confirmed to have been hospitalized since Jan. 26 by Hospital Moinhos de Vento in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

Bündchen's latest post comes not long after she paid tribute to her late mother on Instagram late last month.

At the time, she posted photos of Nonnenmacher with her and her children — Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady — as she shared a message for her mother in the caption of her post.

"Beloved mom, It hurts to know that I won’t be able to hug you anymore, but I know that you will always be watching over us. You were an angel on earth, always helping everyone around you," Bündchen began.

"I am so grateful to be your daughter and to have learned from you. Thank you for being the best role model of love, strength, compassion, courage, and grace," she continued.

"I will forever cherish the beautiful memories we shared and will live by the values you taught me. You will live forever through the many lives that you touched. Thank you for giving me five best friends for life. Your love will always guide us,”  Bündchen concluded. “I will see you in my dreams. Love you," she signed off.

Bündchen previously spoke to PEOPLE last year about her “tough” experience caring for her ailing parents.

“It's been a lot — in every area of my life," the model said at the time. "I feel like whenever it rains, it pours. With all the different twists and turns that life takes, all we can do is the best we can given what happens in our surroundings.”

Bündchen added that she took up meditation and daily exercise to help her cope with the situation, telling PEOPLE, “I think if I didn't have all the different tools that I have to support me during these times, it would've been very hard.”
