Earlier this month, sources close to Gisele Bündchen finally confirmed the timeline of the supermodel’s relationship with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente. And while the People source remained anonymous, the report felt like a major change from their previous ultra-private approach. So, what changed?

According to a new source for Page Six, Bündchen and Valente stopped hiding their connection for a super sweet reason: they just couldn’t hide it any longer! “They were keeping things quiet — but recently there’s been more PDA,” the source detailed. “They’re happy to be affectionate with each other in public.”

After all, the more the world knows about them, the less they need to hide!

Prior to the report, sources revealed how their relationship got started back in June 2023. “[Valente] was a huge comfort for Gisele while she went through her divorce,” a source told People of her divorce from longtime husband Tom Brady. Soon, however, Valente went from being a friend to much more. “Their friendship turned romantic after the divorce,” the source confirmed.

“Joaquim is a great guy,” the source then continued of the Brazilian instructor, who also lives in Miami. “He is down to earth, kind, and inspiring. Gisele was hesitant about dating after the divorce. It’s been very natural for her to date Joaquim.”

In addition to being a support system for her, it seems like the two connected about many aspects of their lives. “They both left Brazil very young,” the source detailed. “They have both created amazing lives for themselves in the U.S. They both love Miami but also enjoy traveling. They both enjoy healthy living.”

“Gisele’s in a great space,” the source concluded of the supermodel. “She is happy and very much enjoying life. Joaquim is perfect for her.” Publicly or privately, we love this for her!
